Our new member of the BFPS advisory board, Ms Dekha Ibrahim
Abdi has been awarded on October 2, 2007 with the Right
Livelihood Award which is widely known as the 'Alternative
Nobel Prize'. We are glad and congratulate her on the acknowledgment
of her excellent work.
Ms Luxshi Vimalarajah (Programme Coordinator of
the RNCST-Sri Lanka) contributed a presentation on Democracy, Violence
and Political Participation of Women in Sri Lanka at the South Asian
Regional Conference on Invisible
Faces of Violence on Women in Politcs: Breaking the Silence (18-20
September 2007 - Kathmandu, Nepal) organized by South Asian Partnership
International.
